Park, take the OMR 1 boat across, then walk 45 minutes up the gorge to swim. Camp at Fins beach, ten minutes back down the coast.
Emerald pools you can reach in sandals, so it gets busy by ten. Go early, then carry on to Wahiba for the night.
Let some air out of the tyres (to about 15 psi) at the sand's edge and camp between the dunes. Take the recovery kit — this is the one trip where you will want it.
Oman's highest peak, with a canyon rim you can pitch beside. Smooth gravel road for the last stretch, and it drops to about 10 °C overnight.
