Who this is for

Staying in hotels and guesthouses — Muscat, Nizwa, a desert camp at Wahiba, the rim at Jebel Shams? Then you don't need the tent, and you shouldn't pay for it. You still need a real 4x4 for the Jebel Shams road, the wadi beds and any track off the highway. A saloon rental will void its insurance the moment it leaves tarmac. Our road trip itineraries work just as well with a hotel at each stop.

Add the tent later

Changed your mind after seeing the stars from the Wahiba camp? If your car still has the tent fitted, we switch you to the roof-tent rate. The tent, mattress, bedding and the full kit go in, with no refit charge.

Pickup at the Muscat depot

Muscat, 15 minutes from the airport, 08:00–18:00 daily. Bring both drivers' licences. Requests open 30 days ahead: pick your dates in the date widget, send the request and we confirm by email, usually within 24 hours. All packages are compared on the homepage.

Can I add the tent later?

Yes, if the car still has its tent fitted — most do. Email us before pickup and we switch your booking to the roof-tent rate for the whole rental.

Is the price lower without the tent?

Yes. The Pajero is OMR 45 a day without the tent against OMR 55 with it, and the Montero is OMR 49 against OMR 59.

Same rules?

Yes. Same insurance, same two drivers, same 250 km/day and the same full-tank return.
