Oman road trip itineraries by 4x4 – 3, 5 and 7 days from Muscat

Every route below starts and ends at our Muscat depot. You drive tarmac plus the tracks a Pajero handles easily, and sleep in the roof tent on the beach, the dunes or the canyon rim. Distances are from the depot in Muscat.

The four places every itinerary is built around

Each guide covers the drive from the depot, what to do, where to camp with a roof tent and whether you need the 4x4 for that leg.

Which 4x4 you need

All of this is done in the Mitsubishi Pajero or Montero with the roof tent and the 41-piece kit. Add the recovery kit for Wahiba and sleeping bags from December to February. Fuel for the 5-day loop costs roughly OMR 20. Hotel-based trip? See the 4x4 without the tent.
